The question on everyone’s mind today is,”How do I survive an Appocolypse?” I guide you through some awesome gear, and cool survival devices that will function well, but are just as awesome due to their coolness, geekinesss, or WOW factor.
Read the list of gadgets below that you will buy more for the fun of it than for actual basic needs:
Liquid Image XSC 325 Digital Camera: This camera may be meant for SCUBA enthusiast, but any good survivalist knows just by looking at it that it would be a perfect tactical RECON video camera. Just jump in the lake, ocean, or sea and sneak up on unsuspecting people pierside for a tactical advantage that only rivals those in the old Navy Seal Movies!
Bison Designs Cobra Pattern Flint and Knife Para Cord Survival Bracelet: I make my own paracord bracelets and belts, but Bison Designs took it to a new level. The bracelet has a toggle and loop fastener, only it isn’t just a toggle and loop. The toggle is a flint fire starter, and the loop is a miniature loop handled knife! Hidden goodies! I think the price is reasonable at around 19 bucks.
Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Hammock: We all know that I love paracord and hammocks. The skeeter beater is a hammock designed to keep those pesky blood sucking, good for nothing, pests off of you (I am talking about mosquitos, not politicians… in case there was confusion). I have several Grand Trunk hammocks and love the quality.
LifeStraw Personal Water Filter: Take up very little space, and gain a perfectly acceptable microfilter. The ability to filter 1000 Liters (that’s over 250 gallons) of water in a straw is just awesome. It claims to work as well as any other larger filters, and takes up no space whatsoever. I haven’t seen a claim against chemicals, but you are good for bacteria and microbes. So if you are in the wilderness and not downstream of an oil refinery, this straw could save your life.
Night Owl Tactical Series G1 Night Vision Binocular Goggles: Do I really have to give a rundown of this one? You see at night! You can sneak up on people for tactics, and animals for hunting. Become a creature of the night.
Lifetime Deluxe Tent Trailer Kit: Its a utility trailer, with the ability to become a nice popup tent. At 2,300 bucks, It may not be worth the price in my eyes, but it is still really cool! And if Lifetime wants to give me one to try, we will really see if it is worth the money!
Emergency Hammer with Built in Flashlight and Seatbelt Cutter: Not all gadgets have to be outlandish in nature. For your vehicle, you should have this puppy. You run off a bridge into a river, no biggie! Shatter your window and cut your seatbelt with this and swim away.
Can you think of some other really cool devices to include in the survival list?
