We just recently had an ICE storm. It was ok. We had backup power in case the power went out. Hopefully most of you realize the dangers of ice over snow. When the wind blows, the ice just forms more on trees and power lines, where as the snow will be blown and knocked off.
The ice just accumulates on everything and weighing it down. Trees, namely evergreens, snap. Power lines go down.
Here’s the deal… We DID NOT worry. We had FUN because we knew all of our needs would be provided for with emergency power if needed.
My generator is “power regulating”, so fuel is only consumed when needed. The motor kicks on and off to charge only. Benefit of this? MUCH less fuel consumption.
I want to show you some of the stuff that happens when you only get and inch or two of ice, with another half inch to inch of snow, then I will post photos of us having tons of fun instead of worrying about our personal infrastructure… because, isn’t that what it is all about??? We prepare so we aren’t controlled by fear, not because we are…
Now for the Fun Portion of the blog post. I get to show you all of the fun you can have when you are ready for this type of weather. I took the day off because it is a long drive into work and a dangerous one at that. I decided to have some family fun instead. Enjoy the Photos.
These Photos are of a neat idea that we came up with… Snow Painting:
Now I will post some photos of us sledding:

I hope you all enjoyed your time, and if you lost power, I hope you were prepared. If not, then you should use my “Budget for Preppers”. I am currently looking for Beta Testers. If you want to test the budget based on Dave Ramsey’s principles with an emphasis on preparedness goals, then email me at email@example.com and tell me your main purpose for the budget. Testers are limited, so chime in quickly.
It was an extremely time involved project to come up with, which means that the price will be adjusted so. So if you are a tester, you are getting a GREAT deal. You just have to promise to use it and provide feedback. You will also be added to a private group of testers that will all hold each other accountable.
As I write tips for your adventures and hear about cool gear, I will let you know all about it!
